Aviary is an installation of paper architecture inspired by a downtown skyline in flux, with skyscrapers, construction cranes, and a bridge to nowhere. Upon closer examination, it is apparent that each building also functions as a cage and shadow-puppet theater for various birds which live inside, playing out the roles that we play in these spaces. The piece is constructed in 2010 from paper, graphite, glue, string, found objects and measures approximately 26 x 74 x 47in.

Neighborhood Arrangement #1: Circle and Neighborhood Arrangement #2: Maze, are related installations of paper architecture inspired by the neighborhoods of Philadelphia. "Circle" shifts these surroundings around to make new meanings; in this case an attempt at order and classification within a meditative pattern. "Maze" more directly explores the experience of navigating this spatially confusing area. These pieces were also constructed in 2010 from cut paper, graphite, glue, and measuring 48 x 48 in.
